| opmerkingen | 30-31 July, Hogerwaardpolder, Rilland, Reimerswaal, Zeeland, and Bergen op Zoom, Noord-Brabant, adult summer, photographed, videoed (J Simons, M Krijnen et al; Krijnen et al 2011; Dutch Birding 33: 313, plate 393-394, 314, plate 395-396, 2011). This was only the third record and the first twitchable one, after an adult summer collected in July 1976 and a juvenile seen but not photographed in August 1980. Remarkably, another adult was observed a few days later at Antwerpen, c 40 km to the south, constituting the third record for Belgium. The small number of records in the Low Countries is remarkable compared with the high numbers in Britain. Annual Report 2011. | |
