| opmerkingen | adult, photographed, sound-recorded, videoed (via E B Ebels and J J F J Jansen; Dutch Birding 46: 350, plate 536-537, 2024). It was not easy to decide on status, especially because it was in active primary moult, usually not associated with a recently arrived migrant. However, in Northern Lapwings V vanellus it seems to be rather common to migrate while in primary moult. Furthermore, there was a previous record of an individual with strong credentials for a true vagrant. This year’s bird turned up in three different locations. Remarkably, both were last seen on Ameland. | |
