Hoogerwerf & Tekke (1969) stated that both White-throated Sparrows caught in 1967 were kept in captivity and would be donated to the Natural History Museum, Tring, Hertfordshire, England, and to Natuurhistorisch Museum, Leiden ZH (now Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden ZH) after their death. However, the bird from 8 October 1967 reached the Zoological Museum Amsterdam NH (now at Naturalis Biodiversity Center, Leiden ZH and registered as ZMA.AVES.25295), while the 28 September 1967 bird never reached the Natural History Museum. So, the latter specimen is lost but fortunately represented by a photograph (Hoogerwerf & Tekke 1969). | |
