Greater Yellowlegs is, like Stilt Sandpiper, another extreme rarity. In Britain, there are 30 records, up to and including 2003, compared with 21 for Stilt Sandpiper. Other waders have a much poorer track record in the Netherlands, eg, perhaps remarkably, Spotted Sandpiper Actitis macularius, for which there are only two records but for which there are 129 records in Britain up to and including 2003. Also in Britain, there are 29 records of Solitary Sandpiper T solitaria, which has never been recorded in the Netherlands. Annual Report 2004.
