| opmerkingen | 3-5 September, Crezéepolder, Ridderkerk, Zuid-Holland, first calendar-year, photographed, sound-recorded, videoed (C Fokker et al; Dutch Birding 38: 408, plate 625, 2016). From the start, it was obvious that Black-headed Bunting and not Red-headed Bunting E bruniceps was the prime candidate. However, since in this plumage virtually all features show some degree of overlap between these two species, it was not easy to clinch the identification.
