One of the birds at De Wijk stayed for more than two weeks around a breeding station of White Storks Ciconia ciconia and predated on recently hatched stork chicks. The record in 2003 was previously accepted only for the province of Drenthe but these birds were also seen across the border in Overijssel (two on 4 June and one on 5-7 June).
