Annual Report 2009: "16 January and 19-31 March, Waterpark Oude Zeug, Wieringermeer, Noord-Holland, adult male, photographed, videoed (B Woets, J Vlot, C Brinkman et al; Dutch Birding 31: 199, plate 226, 2009); 18 March to 14 April, Waterpark Oude Zeug, Wieringermeer, Noord-Holland, adult male, photographed, videoed (F Visscher et al). The first record since 2004, and the first time that two were seen together. After the discovery on 18 March, photographs taken earlier at this site showed that at least one was present already on 16 January 2009. The birds were individually recognizable by slight differences in head profile and bill markings." | |
