| opmerkingen | 11 April, Tacozijl, Lemsterland, Friesland, photographed (G Ottens, L Hoogenstein, M Wesselius; Dutch Birding 30: 203, plate 239, 2008). This taxon is still very rare; this was only the seventh, after birds in 1997 (two), 1998 (three) and 2002 (one). Despite extensive searching, this bird could not be relocated during the following days. Identifying this taxon can be challenging because of its resemblance with, for instance, Intermediate Canada Goose B canadensis parvipes. In addition, hybrids can also hamper the identification process. Future observers are encouraged to submit detailed records, preferably accompanied with quality photographs or video images.
